Making your Home Work for You – Home TourPayton Foeller
After I clean up a little I’ll show you around and give you a snap shot of some of my favorite things about our home. What I probably won’t show you is all of our un-favorite parts about the house. Not because they don’t exist but because we try not to dwell on them and enjoy what we do love! Also, we’re trying to sell our house so I don’t want to put any negative thoughts out there because it really is great! It’s just like any place with a few quirks here and there that you learn to live with.
Okay, so imagine me closing my new computer (which living modestly in our adorable house enabled us to afford) and getting up to go tidy up before I take some panoramic pictures with my phone to help you get a feel for how we make our home work for us!

*Next week I’ll tell you a secret about that mess on the side of our fridge!*
Below that is our clever little toy storage … also known as a pack’n’play stuffed to the top with our play slide stacked on top. If we leavethe slide on the ground the toddler terror wants to climb all over it no matter where the bottom of the slide may take her!
Then her embroidery hoops are from a stash of extra crafty things from her great grandma. I filled them with fabrics that we used in her bedding and I embroidered her name with some fancy script and flowers on it! I’m pretty proud of that one. Maybe next week I’ll take a close up of it!
Oh right. I forgot to mention our primary color scheme. Yes our living room is bright yellow. I planned on yellow, then changed my mind, then went to the store for paint and came home with several gallons of sunshine! I love it.
Annddd Yes. Our bedroom is super bold red. I did the same thing with that color! I always wanted a red bedroom but had decided to go with the more subtle tan in the bed spread.. took the pillow case to the store to match up the tans and what do you know I matched it to the red instead! And I love it too. A lot. And that’s what matters right?!
*When we were nearly finished painting we had someone swing by to let us barrow a tool for something and they said, ‘so when do you guys get to start painting?’ . . . This was after we’d finished all the painting. So we know it’s not everyone’s taste and that’s okay!*
The trick to the wreath is… oh wait. . that’s for next week! Guess you’ll have to come back! The ‘F’ sign in our kitchen was a gift from the pastor who married us! He makes some awesome crafty stuff that I can’t quite create because I’m not so good with tools!
And the flowers are all from our wedding! I use them almost year round. I switch up the decor at Christmas but that’s about all make time for since having a tiny human! I use to switch up the flowers on Fourth of July and then in the fall and again for the winter! Now I’m lucky if the wreath gets put back up when the command hook occasionally gives out.
